About a month ago, we were contacted by a client who’s 4-year-old custom PC had died due to a malfunctioning motherboard and power supply. As a design engineer by trade, he needed a powerful PC capable of intense rendering with some extra power on the side for the occasional video game.
The client’s new PC would be built off of AMD’s new Ryzen 7 1800X processor, a CPU perfect for his creative needs, housed inside the impressive Asus Crosshair VI motherboard. With an EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 and 16GBs of G.Skill TridentZ RGB RAM, our client can keep up with any gaming need. We installed a Samsung 850 EVO 500GB M.2 drive onto his board. Our client salvaged a Crucial MX300 SSD and his Koolance custom loop for CPU cooling purposes, which fit perfectly into his new PC. To assist with the custom loop, six case fans, three 200mm and three 140mm, will help keep air flowing in his NZXT Phantom 820 case. In terms of aesthetics, two of the fans can be controlled by the NZXT Hue+ so he can keep his color coordination on point. Finally, the EVGA SuperNova G2 850W power source was used to keep his PC running.
This being our first Ryzen build, we were excited to construct this beautiful PC. Once we completed the PC, we put it under extreme stress testing, which gave us amazing results! Using Aida 64 and FurMark, the PC was able to comfortably render at 4K resolution and 8X anti-aliasing. We love how it turned out and we hope our client loves it as much as we do!
